Kitsune Statuette
My second foray into digital sculpting, this stylized Kitsune spirit fox statuette was primarily created in Sculptris, with final touch ups completed in ZBrush. The model was created so that it could be printed easily without the use of support structures. A second version was also created to allow for use as a positive model for mold making and casting.
A kitsune is a many-tailed spirit fox present in Japanese folklore (though analogs exist in Chinese and Korean cultures). Stories depict the legendary kitsune as intelligent beings possessing paranormal abilities that increase with their age. Kitsune can have up to nine tails, depending on its age, wisdom and power.
This model was awarded third prize in the Cults3d.com / eSUN Animals contest! (https://cults3d.com/en/pages/3d-printed-animals-results)
